    back home again

It's good to be home.....but it could be better. This is how the past week has gone:
Tom, Beebe, Brian and Jim drive to Grand Rapids in my Grandpa's truck and cattle trailer on Friday night. They call around lunch on Sat. from Grandville, MI which is 10 mins away from our house to say that the truck broke down. They had to have two tow trucks, one for the truck and one for the trailer come to rescue them while I went to pick them up. We find out the truck place closed just 5 minutes before they got there, but the guys let us put the truck in their garage so it would be safe until Monday when they could look at it. So Saturday and Sunday we are bumming around the house with no tv or internet. We did go to church Sunday night and it was so great! It was our last Mars Hill service in person and my fav. worship leader lead and Rob Bell spoke. Great. Monday morning rolls around and we find out the front diferential (spelling?) on the truck went out with many other things that were going wrong with it. To top it off it wasn't going to be done until the end of the week!!! It was not a good day for us. We decided there was nothing we could do in Michigan and the rest of the guys needed to get back to work and school since they had aleady skipped Monday, so we loaded up our car and the van and headed for Wichita. Tom and I have our clothes here but that's about it. It really sucks but there is nothing we can do about it. Tom will be going back to Michigan this weekend or early next week with someone to get our stuff. Next week I will be able to say it's great to be completely living in Wichita with no ties to Michigan. I must say though, I do miss Jenna a bunch! It's sad not living down the street from her. :(
Tom and I have spent the day and will continue in the search for jobs. I hate looking for new jobs, but it must be done. We are living with my parents for a short time until we figure out what we are doing. My parents have been so great! We have the whole newly remodled basement to ourselves!
Anyways, just thought I would keep ya'll up to date on my life just in case you were wondering. :)

  • catch up

It has been a long time...I'll try and catch you up on everything.
November: Tom and I were able to go home for Thanksgiving for about a week. It was really good to be home since I hadn't been since June. We weren't going to be able to home for Christmas so our families celebrated both holidays while we were home. The guys stayed in Wichita, so Tom and I had the house to ourselves until mid January! It was great!

December: Tom and I greatly enjoyed the house to ourselves. We spoiled each other for Christmas! Tom is into baking breads now so I bought him lots of cooking stuff. He makes all kinds of breads and homemade pizzas (which I love because he can make them without cheese so I can eat it). I really enjoy this new hobby! We spent Christmas weekend in Indiana with Kellie and Jeremy. One of the greatest weekends ever!

January: The guys all came home. I had to get used to living with them again. Brie and Amy came up for a weekend! It was great seeing them. I hadn't seen Amy since June and Brie since Novemeber. The band also decided to end North of OK. Their last show is Feb 8 at Skelletones. Sad. The next chapter in ours lives will start very soon.

February: We decided to move home the first of March. I told my job which was really hard because I love my job. I know I will like whatever I do next. Next weekend Jeremy and Kellie are coming up to visit us since we are moving so soon. They will be moving in May so it won't be very long before we are all together again. Me and Tom's two year wedding anniversary is on the 14th! We are very excited! We are going to fly home for the 15-18th. We had this booked before we decided to move and the tickets are non refundable, so we are still going.
    Well, that's about it!

  • update

Not much has been going on...lets see...
We hired more girls at work so the boy to girl ratio is now 6:4 instead of 6:1. Yeah for me! Things are going very well at work. We are staying very busy which is good because that means bigger bonus' for me! We might even be getting busier next month and I might need to hire an assistant! Cool!
The boys are back from their many week tour. It's good to have the house full of people again and to have my husband home! Everyone is just working trying to pay the bills. boo.
We get to go home to Wichita for 5 days over Thanksgiving! I am so excited to see everyone! I haven't been home since June! That's too long. The sad thing is we won't be able to go home for Christmas, so we are celebrating with our families at Thanksgiving. Tom and I went Christmas present shopping this weekend. We got most of it done! That feels great!
I have been sick the past 6 days. I have an upper raspatory infection, ear infection and conjunctivitis in both eyes. I went to the doc this morning and he has me on meds now. Hopefully I will start to feel better soon.
I started working in the nursery at Mars Hill. They call it the Baby Bay because they have a whole hallway for the babies. I am a roomleader for the overflow room, so I get all of the ages 0-24mos. I love it!
My Wed night women's Bible study is going great! I have met some great women and made good friends. We all learn a lot from each other.
Ok, so some things have been happening.

    update

Things have been going great! Work is amazing! I love my job. I don't like working with all guys (and living with all guys) but that will soon change. A couple of girls will soon be working with me. yeah! The guys went on a two week tour in September and will be leaving for a three week tour with Spoken next week. It will be very lonely in the house again and I will really miss Tom. I'm sure I'll survive...somehow. I try to fill my time as much as possible. I joined a women's Bible study at church on Wednesday's. We are doing a Beth Moore series. We are only a couple weeks into it but it's pretty good. We have a mission group that we help with and this year they chose to help with refuges that come to live in GR. They have a handful of refuges coming in a couple of weeks, so we are preparing things for them. We are collecting warm clothing, food and supplies to stock an apartment or two. It's pretty great. Some of the guys are Tom's size so we went through his clothes he doesn't wear anymore and we'll be donating them to the refuges. (Tom has so many winter coats he doesn't wear, so the guys will all stay warm!)
This past weekend we got to see Josh, Tessia, Jeremy and Kellie! It was great! I really miss hanging out with them every week. Watching Grey's by myself isn't as much fun without them here. Kellie and I went shopping while Tessia was at her cousin's wedding and I got some pretty cool stuff from AE (where else?)
